1.1 Definition of Motorcycle Industry
Motorcycle refers to a two-wheel or three-wheel vehicle which has a gasoline engine and is controlled by
the handlebar which controls the direction of its front wheel. For its convenience, flexibility and speed, it has
been extensively used for patrol, passengers and goods transport, as well as in sport.
1.2 Tax Rebate on Exports
On November 17, 2008, the Ministry of Finance and the National Tax Bureau jointly announced that
China would increase the export tax rebate rate of 3770 items of commodities from December 1, 2008, and
that the rebate rate of all models of motorcycles would increase to 11% from the original 9%.
1.3 Prospect of Motorcycle Industry
Over the past several years, many Chinese companies have entered Brazil to use it as a base to expand
to the member countries of the South American Common Market. According to statistics, in 2008, China's
motorcycle exports to Brazil had generated a revenue of USD 250 million, a year-on-year increase of more
than 100%.
